Silver City is an easy 3 hour drive from Tucson, AZ or El Paso, TX via I-10.  Phoenix is 4 & 1/2 hours away and Albuqerque is about 4 hours. That's right, we're actually closer to Tucson or El Paso than Albuquerque!

This next map will give you a closer look.

If you are coming from Albuquerque, avoid the short cut over the Black Range through Hillsboro, NM 152 if you are bringing any kind of big rig.  It is a very twisty road, 350 turns by my count.  You will want to exit at Hatch and take NM 28 to Deming, then turn right onto U.S.180 to Silver City. If you are coming from Phoenix on U.S. 70, turn right onto N.M. 90 just before Lordsburg.

I-10 is longer than U.S. 70 from Phoenix, and faster, but takes about the same time.  U.S. 70 goes through Globe, Miami, and Safford, losing time as it crawls through these little burgs, but it is shorter and uses less gas.....

BILLY'S Wild West  BBQ & STEAKHOUSE is located in The Billy the Kid Plaza, the largest shopping center in Silver City.  If you are coming in from Deming you will first see the Super Wal-Mart on your right.  Turn Left just a quarter of a mile past Wal-Mart where you see the large shopping center with Albertson's, Arby's, First New Mexico Bank, Movie Gallery, Bealles Dept Store, CarQuest, Family Dollar, Subway, UPS Store, and BILLY'S.  Welcome to the Billy the Kid Plaza.

If you are coming from AZ up from Lordsburg you will come into town on Hudson street and go through about 5 traffic lights, it will veer off to the right onto Silver Heights Blvd and U.S. 180. Go through about 4 more traffic lights, about one mile, then make a right into the Billy the Kid Plaza.  Look for Albertson's Supermarket, First New Mexico Bank, The Movie Gallery.  IF you pass Wal-Mart, you've gone too far.
